Amalie Smith: Levende

Smith's largest solo exhibition to date, built around new site-specific installations exploring how digitalisation reshapes senses, cognition, and how we connect to the world and each other. It's the clearest tech-art anchor in Copenhagen's autumn program — running alongside two more nature/science-adjacent solo shows (Jochen Lempert, Som Supaparinya) opening the same day, so there's room for a more extensive Copenhagen tour.

Levende (Living) is Amalie Smith's largest solo presentation to date, built around new site-specific installation work made for Charlottenborg's galleries. The exhibition takes on how digitalisation and accelerating technological change are reshaping human sensory experience, cognition, and the ways people relate to each other and to the world. Smith works across writing, film, and installation, and her practice consistently treats technological and biological systems as entangled rather than opposed. The show opened as part of Charlottenborg's autumn season alongside two further solo presentations, by Jochen Lempert and Som Supaparinya, both also centred on nature and observation. It runs well into 2027, making it a long-window entry rather than a narrow-dated one — still very much on through all of October.
