Melanie Bonajo: Progress vs. Regress

A 2016 film installation following elderly subjects — some of the last people to remember a world before digital technology — as they try to make sense of a culture built on speed and constant connectivity. Bonajo represented the Netherlands at Venice 2022; the piece plays out as part-documentary, part absurdist theatre, closing with a DIY cyborg nurse-figure.
